Kansas City Chiefs State They Are Aware of Domestic Violence Allegations Involving Player Rashee Rice
The NFL franchise released a comment on Wednesday evening confirming they are aware of claims of abuse made public in social media posts by a ex-partner of wide receiver Rashee Rice and were in contact with the league office.
The organization omitted the name of the player by name in their announcement and noted they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.
Allegations Posted on Instagram
Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name Rice directly, shared a series of photos on social media that seemed to depict indicators of bodily harm. She stated the individual in question was the father of her children, and it is known she has two children with the football player, whom the Chiefs drafted in the second round.

No police reports were available in Overland Park, Kansas where the incident is said to have taken place.
Player's Recent Off-Field Troubles
Rice missed the initial part of this NFL campaign due to an NFL suspension for his role in causing a multi-vehicle accident on a Texas roadway that left several individuals injured. He was given a month of incarceration and probationary supervision after entering a guilty plea to felony charges.
On the field, Rice finished the season with 53 catches for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs finished 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a decade.
