This event resulted in the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the multi-storey parking facility.

Formal charges have been brought against two men related to a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be pepper spray led to people being hurt at the UK's busiest airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two robbery charges and charges for deploying a toxic agent, as confirmed by court officials.

The charges follow an probe of an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal Three on the weekend. Earlier that day, two female travelers had their suitcases stolen after exiting a parking garage elevator, according to law enforcement.

A young child was one of the people hurt during the incident. Several persons were taken to a medical facility and were later discharged.

The incident – which authorities stated was not part of a series and not being treated as terrorism – caused disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a brief period.
